Travertine Pedestal Basin on a Single Tapered Column

A wall set basin with a rolled rim and an underside swept into a shallow curve, balanced on one tapered column above a round moulded foot. The travertine is left open and pitted, streaked with the grey mineral staining it picked up while it was still fed by spring water. At only 24 by 15.5 inches it takes almost no floor, which makes it the obvious antique stone sink for a narrow powder room or a hallway cloakroom. Conserved by Ancient Surfaces.
