Carved Limestone Console Sink with a Grapevine Apron
The apron is the whole story here. A grapevine runs the full width of the front in deep relief, heavy with grape clusters and curling leaves, and it carries around the returns rather than stopping at the corners the way a lesser carver would have left it. Above sits a raised round basin cut into a rough textured slab, and below stand two tapered pedestals with foliate capitals. A serious carved stone sink for a wine room, a scullery or a statement powder room. Restored by Ancient Surfaces.
